Russia's Atomic is sending a nuclear reactor to Bangladesh's first nuclear power plant

Russian energy company Automash is sending a nuclear reactor to Bangladesh's first nuclear power plant. According to a report in Russia's online C-News, Automash is loading for the shipment of a nuclear reactor for the Rooppur nuclear power plant in Bangladesh.

Two steam generators for a second power plant under construction and that reactor are being sent to this shipment. The weight of this reactor is 320 tons. It is 12 meters long. The two steam generators being loaded with it weigh 340 tons. These are 14 meters long. These will be loaded onto barges from the berths of the auto mass and transported by river to the port of Novorossiysk.

Then it will be sent to Bangladesh by sea. Note that the first nuclear power plant is being built in Rooppur, Bangladesh. The project is being implemented by the Engineering Division of Rosatom, Russia. This power plant will have two power generation units. It will use the VVER-1200 nuclear reactor.
